YANG ZHANG

Yang ZHANG born in 1996 in Sichuan, China, he is a pianist and chamber musician. He is currently pursuing an artistic training program at the Chopin University of Music, studying under Professor Agnieszka Przemyk-Bryła and Professor Janusz Olejniczak. He is also enrolled in a postgraduate diploma program at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, studying under Professor Szczepan Kończal. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Lviv National Music Academy in Ukraine, studying in the class of Professor Myroslava Drahan Tarasovych, People's Honored Artist of Ukraine. He graduated with distinction in both piano performance and chamber music, and was awarded an honorary diploma in the summer of 2022.

  • First Prize in the Bach International Competition
  • Third Prize in the London International Music Competition
  • Second Prize Opus in the Krakow Competition
  • Gold Medal in the AD LIBITUM International Competition
  • Outstanding Piano Teacher Certificate in the Liszt International Youth Piano Competition (China)
  • Concerto Prize at the Polish International Piano Forum "Bieszczady Without Borders"

Performance Experience:

He has performed at important venues in China, Italy, Finland, Estonia, Poland, and Ukraine, including: Helsinki Senate Square Church, Tallinn History Museum, Lviv National Philharmonic Grand Concert Hall, Lviv Organ Hall, Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, Chopin Salon in Warsaw, Calisia One, Mielec Local Government Cultural Center (collaborating with the Warsaw National Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra), Ludomir Różycki Concert Hall in Kielce (collaborating with the Lviv Chamber Orchestra).

He has also participated in numerous music festivals, including: International Piano Forum "Bieszczady Without Borders", Chopin-Górecki Music Festival, Bisma, Katowice International Piano Masterclasses, Classical Embrace, Baltic Music Festival, and others.

He has received guidance from internationally renowned musicians, including:

Dmitri Alexeev, Andrzej Jasiński, Akiko Ebi, Tatarski Andrzej, Grigory Gruzman, Michael Bulychev-Okser, Carlo Palese, Elena Margolina-Hait, Wojciech Kocyan, and Aleksandra Zvirblyte.
